Cash loans are unsecured loans taken out and repaid over your next few payday wages. Because they are short-term loans, they are generally small, ranging from $100 to $1,000 and repayment is due over a short time frame. They can be very useful for overcoming a temporary financial emergency but should not be considered as a long term financial solution.
The basic requirements for receiving a cash loan from us are simple. If you are at least 18 years of age, living in New Zealand (resident or citizen), employed, with a net weekly income of $400 or more, and your wage gets paid directly into your bank account (direct debit), you typically meet the basic requirements. Please note this is a guide only – in certain circumstances we may not be able to offer you a loan.
To process your application, we require:
  1. A copy of your Driver Licence or Passport
  2. Proof of address
  3. Your past three months worth of bank statements up to the present date
We need basic information from you to confirm details, and administer the loan responsibly. In reality the loan application form is very simple. The most important information we require would be:
 
  • Your income details: So we can ensure you are only borrowing an amount you can afford to repay!
  • Your physical home address: To confirm your residence in New Zealand
  • Employment status: To help us confirm your eligibility, as without a job we cannot lend to you!
  • Pay cycle and the date of your next pay: This allows us to set up your direct debit authority form
  • How do you receive your wage/salary? In other words do you receive your wage/salary via direct credit or not?
Depending on your net wage, you may qualify for a cash loan of up to $1,000. You will be able to see how much you qualify for, before accepting any loan agreement. The quickest way to check is to refer to our loan calculator by clicking on Apply Now at the top of the page.

The whole application process is done online. We do not process loans via email or telephone, but you can contact us this way for help. This means you will need to have internet access, a mobile phone and a bank account number to apply.

The fees are clearly stated in our loan agreement (contract), and our cost of borrowing page. Therefore, when you are presented with our loan agreement, please review the terms carefully before accepting the loan. After you have reviewed the terms and conditions of the loan, accepted them by signing and returning the form (plus other requested support documents) to us via email or fax, then (if your loan is approved) the cash will be directly deposited into your bank account. This can happen within 30 minutes (a small fee and terms apply), or as an overnight deposit.
We will set up an automatic direct debit for your convenience, to make deductions from your bank account when you get paid.
You have to ensure the required cash is available in your bank account as agreed. The total due will then be deducted from your bank account automatically on the repayment date(s). The dates are typically aligned with your payday or perhaps one day later. All payment dates will be clearly stipulated in your loan agreement.
Please note that if the required money is not available in your bank account as agreed, then you'll incur default fees. The loan agreement documents clearly identify these default fees. If for whatever reason you know that on a due date there will not be sufficient money to cover your loan repayment, please call our 0800 (see Contact page) to ensure this is discussed within the collections team. This needs to happen at least 2 business days prior to the due date! Any later than this and we may not be in a position to stop the direct debit from being processed.
If you do call us in time, we can discuss possible alternative arrangements. We are here to help and will work with you to ensure you do not default on your agreement.
We will set up an automatic direct debit on your bank account to match your pay date. Early repayment can be made at any time for no extra cost.
As responsible lenders, we will only allow you to have one loan at any time. You may be able to reapply when your current loan is fully repaid. However our loans are not designed for continued use, so please consider alternatives.

We require that all loan applications need to be submitted online, via this website. The online application ensures accurate information is relayed to us, which allows for speedy processing of your loan application. If you are having issues on our website, we will be happy to assist you.
It is important to see a loan from us as only a temporary, secondary solution. Before you sign up for a loan, consider the following alternatives:
 
  • A personal loan from your family or friends,
  • A loan from a bank or a credit union,
  • A payday advance from your employer,
  • Obtaining a cash advance on your credit card
  • A secured loan through a pawn shop,
  • Refinancing your home or
  • Taking out a home equity loan
  • Selling some of the stuff you don't need around your home on Trademe
  • Do contact your creditors (the people you owe money to) directly and request more time to repay your debt. Make sure you find out about any late charges, fees or interest these creditors of yours may charge you though! Sometimes a cash loan may end up costing you less.
We understand you may have had and repaid a cash loan with us previously, but to be fair, we need to take into account the applicant's (your) ongoing financial position. Therefore, every loan application is treated on an individual basis.
